Frequently Asked Questions
What kind of materials do you use?
We primarily use anodized aluminum, which allows us to have lasting, vibrant colors in our designs. We also will use raw copper and stainless steel in some of our heavier pieces. We are willing to work in other metals, such as titanium, niobium, and silver upon request and for custom orders.
Anodized aluminum is a nickle-free alloy, and as such is hypoallergenic. Further metals information can be provided upon request.
What if I can't find the color combination I want?
I source my materials from many different suppliers and can get any of 45 different shades and colors.
If you don't see a color combo you like listed as a product option, it's simply because I forgot it! Please contact us directly and we will be happy to make any item in any color combination for no extra charge!
How long will it take to get my custom order?
This depends on a lot of factors:
1. How complicated is the weave?
The more complicated the weave, the longer it takes. But as a general rule, bracelets take a week, necklaces take two, earrings take a couple days.
2. Do we have the materials in stock when you order?
If we don't have the materials in stock when you order, our answer will be the same as above, AFTER the materials arrive from the supplier.
3. How big is the piece that was ordered?
The larger the piece, the longer it takes. If you order a cosplay piece, an armor piece, or something equally sized, our head weaver will discuss how long it will take her to finish the piece.
4. How far away are you?
While we always try to get your piece to you as quickly as possible, shipping times are often outside of our control, especially international orders. The farther away from us you are, the longer it will take to arrive.
Do you ship outside of the U.S.?
Yes, absolutely.
However, there is an additional charge that our shipping department will contact you about.
Do you make armor?
Yes!
We love taking on large pieces and don't shy away from armor! We've created some awesome scale maille armor for cosplays and always jump at the chance to do more large work.
Do you do chain maille repairs?
If it's our work, absolutely, and usually at no charge.
If it's not our work, as a rule, no. But rules can occasionally be broken. From our head weaver:
"If I know the material, and I have it, maybe.
If I know the weave, maybe."
Repairs are assessed and accepted or denied on a case by case basis. Feel free to message us and ask, and please include photos of the damage, along with any information you have about the material and the original source. Our head weaver will contact you with further details and/or questions regarding the repair.
